Swift has announced a new release
The multi-award-winning singer-songwriter hit social media to announce the video-on-demand release of the concert movie. And it will happen, according to his numerical choice, on his birthday…
The on-demand version will feature an extended set list from the 169-minute theatrical version, as fans have anticipated.
Yet even with the addition of “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live,” it still won’t include every song Swift sings on most or many of the tour dates.
“Cardigan” is the only set standby still apparently unaccounted for, while “No Body No Crime,” which didn’t make the full tour but was performed by Swift Haim MIA’s remains were filmed at LA’s SoFi Stadium in August at the show.
What is Eras Tours?
The tour, which as the title suggests sees the singer/songwriter perform music from various “eras” of his career, has been a huge success. The concert was attended by more than three million Swifties during the first leg of its US run.
Not only did it break all concert sales records, but it left millions of fans wanting more, either because they attended the concert and wanted to see it again, or after being unable to get tickets for sold-out performance after sold-out performance. .
By the time the first leg of the States ended last month, Swift had just finished playing in South America, with plans to tour Europe next year and more.
The movie grossed $178 million in the US this past weekend, setting the record for a concert film multiple times.
