‘T’-Hub (Technology Hub), a 10-storey T-shaped structure built on an area of 5,85,000 sq ft in Hyderabad, has the most beautiful address in the city. Touted as the world’s largest technology incubator facility, T-Hub has bagged the “Best Incubator in India” award at the National Startup Awards 2022.
Established with the aim of creating an ecosystem to foster startups in India, the facility is now home to over 410 new businesses in the fields of aviation, agriculture, artificial intelligence and defense technology.
T-Hub, a vision of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Telangana government, is a pet project of the state’s IT minister KT Rama Rao, who has put in relentless efforts over the past nine years to make it a success.
The project, which was conceived in 2015, and inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in June last year, has since seen an investment of Rs 400 crore by the state government.
“All the developments are going on consistently and we are riding on some giants. This is the second phase of development that we have witnessed and we aspire to continue this beautiful journey,” said IT Hub CEO M Srinivas Rao. CNN News 18
TurboHire.co, an AI powered recruitment experience is one of the start-ups founded in T-Hub. Recruiting is now an intense social engagement process and in this age of smartphones and 5G, it is unregulated with traditional processes and technologies.
TurboHire helps Tata Motors, Ola, Britannia, Zee, Motilal Oswal and other companies with 65 percent faster hiring and 50 percent fewer interviews per hire for both white collar and gray/blue collar job families.
While talking to Deepak Aggarwal, founder of TurboHire CNN News 18 Said, “It has not only given us a wonderful facility to work in, but has also contributed immensely to our growth. KTR and MSR’s vision has come true today. This facility not only gives us a good location and good access but also ensures that we get help when it is most needed. T-Hub’s initial investment was the seed it needed to grow into a beautiful tree.”
Viva, a no-code analytics platform that offers e-commerce businesses a unified analytics perspective across multiple platforms, also has an office in T-Hub. The company details the brand’s customer journey before, during and after the sale through pre-built dashboards and reports. It enables workflow automation and seamless interpretation of insights for increased business efficiency. Another unit here sees it as a leap forward for India’s Tech-Ed
“During my growing up years, I saw how Hyderabad was developed as an IT hub. It was a more service-driven city, which saw companies like Microsoft move here. But now this facility helps us to develop a project and deliver the product. I don’t have to worry about expensive workspace rent, I don’t have to worry about market strategy or market access. All under one roof. Therefore, this is another model of development that is very important to the citizens here,” said Biva founder Abhiram Koli, while talking about why it is important to have such incubation centers for those who want to drive innovation.
Banyan Nation, one of India’s first vertically integrated plastic recycling companies that helps global brands use more recycled plastic instead of virgin plastic, also has a T-Hub address.
“Our proprietary plastic cleaning technology transforms collected post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste into high-quality recyclable particles – the foundation of this lies here, where what they call state handholding is key,” said Mani Vajipe, founder of Banyan Nation. CNN News 18.
Vajipe called Telangana a start-up state and said it is in his DNA to support initiatives like T-Hub.
“We were one of the first few start-ups to be part of the incubation centre. We were able to get support from the government as one of our first clients. When you have support from the government in terms of sustainability, it becomes much easier to focus on finding solutions. Easy access to investment opportunities and investors is key with such a support system,” Vajipei said.
With state-of-the-art technology, focused on fostering new ideas, providing much-needed support, the BRS-led Telangana government is focusing on keeping Hyderabad’s reputation as the technology capital of the country intact.
As a musician AR Rahman once told IT minister KTR, “If this is the government’s model, it is indeed the model that everyone needs to follow.”
