GITAM (Deemed to be University) has announced the launch of its annual pan-India pitch-fest, StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon 2023. Undergraduates, graduates and recent college graduates are all invited to participate in this event where they can showcase their business ideas and compete. For a total prize of Rs.30 lakhs. The deadline for submission of applications is June 10 and participants can be individuals or teams of a maximum of two members.
Through social entrepreneurship, StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon seeks to foster student innovation and growth of resilient, sustainable communities. Young entrepreneurs are encouraged to present their business ideas in four themes: food and health, toys for STEM, sustainable fashion and frugal innovation. The final phase of the competition will be held on August 24 and 25 at GITAM’s Hyderabad campus.
Organized by GITAM’s Venture Development Center in partnership with Startup India, the event will award winners with a variety of attractive prizes. A total prize money of Rs 30 lakhs and cash will be awarded to both the winners and runners-up.
Dean of Innovation, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Prof. Balkumar Murthy expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s event saying, “StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon 2023 is a brilliant platform for students and aspiring student entrepreneurs across the country to present their ideas. to the world and win some exciting prizes and a chance to network with renowned experts. It’s an invaluable opportunity to meet like-minded people and be part of a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem!”
The most promising entrepreneurs will receive personalized coaching and boot camps from globally trained venture coaches. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas at Boston Entrepreneurship Week in the United States.
