Leicester: Pakistan’s young pace sensation Naseem Shah – who currently plays for Britain’s T20 Vitality Blast – has rubbished rumors about his alleged engagement.
The 20-year-old has been making headlines since becoming famous for his pair of sixes in the Asia Cup semi-final against Afghanistan last year. Fans have been curious about Shah and especially her relationship status since the rumors first surfaced after a viral video involving Indian model and actress Urvashi Rautella.
However, as always, the pacer dismissed the rumors that he tied the knot with anyone.
“All these rumors of my engagement are absolutely untrue as nothing like that has happened. And I don’t understand why everyone is so interested in my engagement or marriage. Why are people suddenly focusing on their marriages and engagements instead of focusing on their performance in cricket? Just watch us play cricket and enjoy, getting married is my personal matter and it will happen when it happens,” he said. worldly news In an exclusive interview.
Reflecting on his career in the T20 Vitality Blast, the youngster said that he has already started his preparations for the upcoming ICC World Cup in October but is also mindful of the advice given by his physios on how to manage his workload.
Shah has played four matches so far for Leicestershire Foxes in the ongoing T20 Blast. The right-hander bowled with great accuracy and took three wickets in four matches for a total of just 112 runs at an impressive economy of just 7.46 runs per over.
“This brief stint with Leicestershire Fox was amazing. Last year, I played a lot of cricket in all formats and county as well. My physio didn’t allow me to play profit for the entire season to handle my workload,” said Shah.
“I only got this chance to play a few games which was a good experience and a slight change in the weather. And I am happy with my performance.
“I’m trying to focus on the opportunities I’m going to get to play cricket, including the upcoming Test series in Sri Lanka. Soon I will be back in Pakistan to attend the special cricket camp organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore so hopefully we will be fully prepared by the time of the World Cup.”
Shah said that although he does not want to compete with any fellow Pakistani pacer, admitted that there is tough competition in the fast-bowling department.
“It’s good for Pakistan cricket that we have such tough but healthy competition in the fast-bowling department,” Shah said, adding that Pakistan has a lot of fast-bowling talent so the more competitors there are they will have to work.
“Although I don’t have any competition with any of my teammates because I try to do better and work harder every time. But as far as partnership goes, I always try to enjoy the team that bowls with me and learn from that partnership so I am with all of them. Love to bowl,” he added.
