The Mumbai Traffic Police has taken strict action on the complaint filed against Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, who is also cricketer Virat Kohli’s wife, after she was seen riding a motorcycle as a pillion. The viral video showing Anushka sitting behind her bodyguard on a bike after hitting a road block drew a lot of criticism on the internet. Many netizens questioned the actor for not wearing a helmet while riding a bike and a complaint was made on Twitter tagging the Mumbai Traffic Police. Sharing Anushka’s video, a user wrote, “@MumbaiPolice no helmet?” In reply, the Mumbai Police said they shared the same with the traffic wing.
Now, the Mumbai Traffic Police, in a post on Twitter, has revealed that a challan of Rs 10,500 has been issued to the owner of the bike for breaking multiple rules. “The challan was issued to the driver under Section 129/194(D), Sec 5/180 and Sec 3(1)181 MV Act along with a fine of Rs 10500 to the offender,” wrote the Mumbai Traffic Police. The user has already paid the full amount and the receipt has also been shared on Twitter.

As seen, the rider is penalized under three different sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, namely 129/194(D) for riding a bike by both rider and pillion without a helmet, Section 5/180 for allowing a driver without a valid driving license to ride a bicycle without a valid driving licence. Section 3(1)181 of the License and MV Act.
All three counts carry a cumulative fine of Rs 10,500. Earlier, megastar Amitabh Bachchan created waves on the internet when he informed his fans that he took a lift from an unknown man on a two-wheeler to reach his workplace on time. However, both Rider and Megastar were not wearing helmets. “What helmet dude?” asked one social media user.
Some social media users also tagged the Mumbai Police with a picture of Amitabh Bachchan sitting on a bike without a helmet. A user wrote, “Helmet missing for both driver and pillion. @MumbaiPolice please take note!”
