The Ministry of Railways shared the images with the caption, “Bringing culturally rich Kashmiri towns on railway network! Amid jubilation and celebration, the long pending claim of Ratnipora Holt between Avantipora and Kakapora was finally fulfilled. This stall will facilitate mobility in the region with accessible transport.”
Ratnipora village is located in the Pulwama district of J&K and is almost equidistant from the towns of Pulwama, Awantipora and Pampore, making it an important junction between the three. A total of 4 trains will stop for a minute at Ratnipora station, which runs on the Baramulla-Banihal rail section of the valley.
Also, Ashwani Vaishnav recently said that a specially designed “Vande Bharat” train is being developed for this line. “Everything like temperature, snow has been kept in mind while making this special train. Once the railway line is operational, you will have ‘Bande Bharat’ train by mid-2024,” he said.
