Live Updates: Alec Baldwin to be charged in fatal ‘Rust’ shooting
“This decision distorts the tragic death of Halina Hutchins and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice. Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun – or anywhere on the movie set,” said attorney Luke Nikas.
“He relied on the professionals he worked with, who assured him that the gun did not contain live rounds. We will fight these charges and we will win.”
An attorney for Gutierrez Reed said he believes the judge found his client not guilty.
“We were expecting the charges but they are absolutely wrong in Hannah’s case – we hope that she is not convicted by a jury and that she did not commit murder,” attorney Jason Bowles said in a statement Thursday.
“He was emotional about the tragedy but took no offense.”
There have been allegations of finger-pointing in the shooting and negligence of those involved.

Based on all available information, including the absence of clear intent to cause harm or death, the manner of death is classified as accidental,” the report concluded.
An FBI forensic report stated that the weapon could not be fired during the FBI’s normal function test without pulling the trigger while cocking the gun. The report also noted that the gun ultimately malfunctioned after internal parts broke during testing, causing the gun to go cocked without pulling the trigger.

On Thursday, Hall’s attorney Lisa Taraco released a statement defending her client, who does not face charges in connection with the tragedy.
